Terms

Last updated 2026-09-29

This website is run by the Digital Kaleidoscope research project at Imperial College London. By using it, you agree to these terms.

Using the site

Use the site only for what it is for: finding out about the study and, if you take part, signing in and managing your participation. Don't try to get into other people's accounts or data, and don't do anything that disrupts the site.

Taking part in the study

Taking part is voluntary and is covered by the participant information and your agreement to take part, not by these terms. You can withdraw as described there.

Signing in with WhatsApp

You sign in by sending us a message on WhatsApp. WhatsApp is provided by Meta, and your use of it is covered by Meta's own terms and privacy policy.

How we treat each other

We will treat you with respect, and we ask you to do the same for everyone involved in the study and this website. That means no abuse, harassment, threats or discrimination in messages to us, in anything you send us, or towards other participants or researchers.

We ask that you be honest, and keep your account to yourself. Give your real phone number, don't sign in as someone else, and only link game accounts that are yours.

If someone's behaviour makes it hard for us to run the study safely, we may pause or end their access to the website and messages. We'll tell them why, and we'll try to talk first. This never affects your right to withdraw from the study, to ask for your data to be deleted, or to complain. If you're worried about something that happened, tell us: kaleidoscope@imperial.ac.uk.
